The Muslim World League (MWL) welcomes the efforts undertaken by the Aligned for Advancing Lifesaving and Peace in Sudan (ALPS) Group, which are directed towards alleviating the suffering, preserving the lives of the Sudanese people, and securing a sustainable cessation of hostilities.
In a statement issued by His Excellency Sheikh Dr. Mohammed Al-Issa, Secretary-General of the MWL and Chairman of the Organization of Muslim Scholars, the MWL expressed its full support and great appreciation for the group's efforts—consisting of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, the United States, Switzerland, the United Arab Emirates, the Arab Republic of Egypt, the African Union, and the United Nations—which operates under the Jeddah Declaration and the auspices of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
Furthermore, the MWL commends the ALPS Group’s commitment to rescuing the Sudanese people, facilitating the delivery of humanitarian aid, safeguarding civilians, and initiating ceasefires to end the conflict in Sudan.
