The Muslim World League values the determination of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, based on the Kingdom's position as a reference point in the Islamic world, its leadership, and presidency of the Islamic Summit, for holding an emergency meeting to discuss the repercussions of the disgraceful crime of burning a copy of the Holy Quran in Sweden, on the first day of Eid Al-Adha.
The MWL affirmed through its Secretary-General, His Excellency Sheikh Dr. Mohammed bin Abdulkarim Al-Issa, the Chairman of the Organization of Muslim Scholars, the importance of the Kingdom's efforts in protecting and caring for the issues of the Islamic Ummah and all that is held sacred by the Ummah.
The MWL stresses the importance of this urgent step in enhancing international awareness of the danger of negative actions towards what is held sacred by religions; given the adverse impact of such actions on the respect and harmony between nations and peoples.
