Statement by the Muslim World League
Makkah:
The Muslim World League (MWL) strongly condemned the attacks launched by the Houthi militia against the city of Makkah and the Madinah Region, as well as its continued sinful aggression against the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, its terrorizing of Muslims, their holy sites and mosques, and its provocation of Muslims by violating the sanctity of their holy sites.
In a statement issued by the MWL General Secretariat, His Excellency Sheikh Dr. Mohammed bin Abdulkarim Al-Issa, Secretary-General of the MWL and Chairman of the Organization of Muslim Scholars, denounced the terrorist approach of the Houthi militia and its attacks targeting holy sites and mosques, as well as schools and civilian objects, in a flagrant violation of the values of our noble religion and the most basic humanitarian principles. His Excellency called on Islamic countries and the international community to condemn the attacks against the city of Makkah and the Madinah Region by those who call themselves “Ansar Allah,” and the terrorist approach reflected in their actions, which violate divine sanctities by endangering the lives of Muslims and their holy sites. Such acts do not constitute support for Allah and His Messenger (PBUH); rather, they constitute a betrayal of the religion and Muslims and a departure from the guidance of Allah and His Messenger (PBUH).
On behalf of the MWL’s global bodies, councils and assemblies, and all Muslim peoples represented under its umbrella, His Excellency reiterated full solidarity with the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia in all measures it takes to counter the terrorism of the aggressors and safeguard the sanctity of the holy sites and the lives of Muslims. He prayed to Allah Almighty to grant the Kingdom victory over the sinful aggressors who have violated the sanctities of Allah and the holy sites of Muslims, and to protect the Kingdom, Muslim countries and their holy sites—their lands, leaderships and peoples—from all harm.
