Foreign Policy magazine hosted a discussion session followed by a dinner in honor of His Excellency Sheikh Dr. Mohammed Al-Issa attended by a distinguished group of religious, intellectual, media, and political figures.

This evening in Washington, D.C.:
In the presence of the Editor-in-Chief, and CEO and Publisher, Foreign Policy magazine hosted a discussion session followed by a dinner in honor of His Excellency Sheikh Dr. Mohammed Al-Issa , Secretary-General of the Muslim World League (MWL) and Chairman of the Organization of Muslim Scholars, attended by a distinguished group of religious, intellectual, media, and political figures.
The session featured discussions on a number of issues and topics related to religious and intellectual engagement and responsibility.
His Excellency responded to questions addressed to him and, during the discussion, spoke about the contents of the Charter of Makkah and the distinctive qualities that characterize it.
Attendees praised the concept and content of the Charter, which reflects the broad horizons of Islam and embodies the tolerance of our noble faith and its values of coexistence with all, in addition to addressing a number of contemporary issues.
The Charter stands among the foremost contemporary religious documents. It was endorsed by more than 1,200 muftis and scholars, while more than 4,500 Muslim intellectuals attended its conference. It was also approved by the member states of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation, which recommended benefiting from it in religious, educational, and cultural institutions across the Islamic world. In implementation of the OIC’s recommendation, training programs around the world are currently being implemented on the Charter’s principles and content.
The meeting also addressed a number of contemporary international issues in light of the mission and objectives undertaken by the Muslim World League.
