Following the "first-of-its-kind" declaration by senior scholars of the Muslim world concerning girls' education in Muslim communities, the meeting was attended by representatives from various sects and religious schools of thought. It included participants from the Islamic Fiqh Council affiliated with the Muslim World League, the International Islamic Fiqh Academy affiliated with the Organization of Islamic Cooperation, and representatives from various institutions, councils, and scholarly bodies.
Under the presidency of His Excellency Sheikh Dr. Mohammed Al-Issa, Secretary-General of the #MuslimWorldLeague and Chairman of the Organization of Muslim Scholars, the conference titled 'Girls' Education in Muslim Communities: Challenges and Opportunities' convened in Islamabad, Pakistan, having been initiated by the Secretary-General of the Muslim World League.
Twenty-two agreements were signed, accompanied by a commitment to support girls' education. These agreements provide clear guarantees with measurable outcomes designed to assist girls who currently lack access to education. They aim not only to help these girls exercise their right to education but also to bolster the efforts of their communities in providing education.
