Muslim World League Welcomes UN Adoption of Resolution on Israel's Obligations Related to UN and Other Countries' Activities in Favor of Palestinians and Their Occupied Territories

Makkah:
The Muslim World League (MWL) has welcomed the adoption of a resolution by the UN General Assembly, submitted by the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, the Kingdom of Norway, and several other countries. The resolution calls for an advisory opinion from the International Court of Justice regarding Israel's obligations in relation to the activities of the UN and other nations in support of Palestinians and their occupied territories.

In a statement issued by the MWL’s General Secretariat, His Excellency Sheikh Dr. Mohammed bin Abdulkarim Al-Issa, Secretary-General of the MWL and Chairman of the Organization of Muslim Scholars, commended the resolution as a significant step forward in the ongoing efforts to support the Palestinian people and safeguard their rights. He emphasized that the resolution underscores the international consensus on the Palestinian people’s inherent right to self-determination and the establishment of an independent state, particularly in light of the grave violations they continue to endure.

His Eminence also expressed his heartfelt gratitude to the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, and His Royal Highness the Crown Prince, Prime Minister, Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud—May Allah preserve them—for their leadership in this crucial initiative. This resolution is a testament to Saudi Arabia's unwavering commitment and central role in supporting the Palestinian cause and alleviating the suffering of its people.
