Dr. Mohammed Al-Issa stated: "The adoption of the Charter of Building Bridges between Islamic Schools of Thought and Sects by Islamic countries, and the praise of its outcomes, mark a significant qualitative leap in our collective Islamic efforts

His Excellency Sheikh Dr. Mohammed Al-Issa, Secretary-General of the Muslim World League (MWL) and Chairman of the Organization of Muslim Scholars, stated: "The adoption of the Charter of Building Bridges between Islamic Schools of Thought and Sects by Islamic countries, and the praise of its outcomes, mark a significant qualitative leap in our collective Islamic efforts. This aims to serve the Islamic Ummah, enhance solidarity among its peoples, and address the root causes of sedition, division, and conflict."
His Excellency Sheikh Dr. Mohammed Al-Issa, Secretary-General of the MWL, extends his sincere gratitude and appreciation to the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques and His Royal Highness the Crown Prince—may Allah safeguard them—for their generous patronage and substantial support of the conference on Building Bridges between Islamic Schools of Thought and Sects. He also commends the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia for its pivotal role in unifying the Islamic Ummah’s discourse and strengthening its solidarity.
It is noteworthy that the Charter was adopted during the 50th session of the Council of Foreign Ministers of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation in Yaoundé, the capital of Cameroon. This decision underscores the member states' acknowledgment of the Charter's historic importance, aiming to bridge divisions between various Islamic schools of thought and sects and to heal the wounds inflicted by past divisions.
The Charter comprises 28 principles addressing the diversity, differences, and pluralism among Islamic sects. Its vision, grounded in the teachings of the Holy Quran and the honorable Sunnah of the Prophet Muhammad (PBUH), strives to unify efforts and perspectives within the framework of Islam and the unifying Qibla.
Each school of thought and sect preserves its unique identity and interpretation, engaging in interactions guided by Islam’s noble values and wisdom. Dialogue is conducted in a spirit of brotherhood, fostering productive and meaningful engagement without conflict or confrontation.
