The Muslim World League Welcomes the Outcomes of the Extraordinary Session of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation Council of Foreign Ministers
The Muslim World League (MWL) has welcomed the final statement of the Extraordinary Session of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) Council of Foreign Ministers, which was held in Jeddah. This session was convened to discuss the ongoing Israeli aggression against the Palestinian people.
In a statement by the General Secretariat of the MWL, His Excellency Sheikh Dr. Mohammed bin Abdulkarim Al-Issa, Secretary-General of the MWL and Chairman of the Organization of Muslim Scholars, expressed that the MWL, along with its global councils, bodies, and assemblies, supports the contents of the final statement of the Extraordinary Session. This session was convened at the request of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, the State of Palestine, the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan, and the Islamic Republic of Iran.
Dr. Al-Issa appreciated the Ministers of Member States of the OIC for praising the outcomes of the International Forum on "The Role of Media in Inciting Hatred and Violence: Risks of Misinformation and Bias," held in Jeddah on November 26, 2023. The forum, organized in partnership between the Auxiliary Secretariat for Corporate Communication of the MWL and the Union of OIC News Agencies (UNA), saw the participation of all official news agencies in the OIC member states, major international news agencies, intellectuals, and religious leaders and institutions. A special session titled "Bias and Misinformation in International Media: The Palestinian Issue as a Case Study" explored how media bias distorts facts, prevents the exposure of Israeli occupation’s violations, and obstructs the Palestinian people's pursuit of their legitimate rights.
His Excellency concluded by praising the tireless efforts of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, Chair of the 32nd Arab Summit and the Islamic Summit Conference, to end the brutal crimes committed by Israel against the Palestinian people in Gaza. He highlighted the Kingdom's push for an end to the occupation and the achievement of a two-state solution that guarantees a just and comprehensive peace, contributing to security and stability in the region and the world.
