It is the first of its kind in the history of the Americas and encompasses the Islamic sects that have approved the #CharterOfMakkah.
His Excellency Sheikh Dr. Mohammed Al-Issa, the Secretary-General of the MWL and Chairman of the Organization of Muslim Scholars, inaugurated the meeting of the Founding Council of Islamic Leaders in the Americas at the Islamic Center in Washington, D.C.
The meeting touched on the practical programs of the Charter of Makkah and their dissemination among tens of millions of members of the Muslim community in the Americas.
The council discussed several future plans, especially the forums accompanying it, and emphasized strengthening communication between Islamic institutions and coordinating their joint efforts.
It is noteworthy that the council encompasses all Islamic sects that have approved the Charter of Makkah.
