The Muslim World League condemns the terrible violence committed by a Saudi student at a U.S. naval base in Florida that killed three American citizens and wounded several more. Dr. Mohammad Al-Issa, the Secretary General of the Muslim World League, said the League considers what happened a criminal act that merits the most severe penalties under Islamic law. Dr. Al-Issa also attests that such a horrific crime has no place among Muslims and cannot be justified under any legitimate interpretation of Islam. Dr. Al-Issa says the American people are worthy only of respect and appreciation, and that the perpetrator is not representative of any religion or nationality, only his own sick beliefs. Dr. Al-Issa expresses his deepest condolences to the families of the victims, and wishes all the injured a prompt recovery.
