The Muslim World League implements a training workshop in cooperation with the Office of the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees

The Muslim World League, in cooperation with the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR), has conducted a training workshop for its staff on international refugee assistance, camp management and refugee protection, human resource development and community awareness.
The training workshop was launched under the supervision of the World Relief, Welfare and Development Organization, and under the directives of His Excellency the Secretary General of the Muslim World League Sheikh Dr. Mohammad Bin Abdulkarim Alissa. This program aims at improving performance and improving the work environment and training and qualifying the cadres in the Rabita and its affiliated bodies according to the best international professional practices in its fields of its specialization; 45 trainees from various departments and programs of the Organization.
The course training program, presented by a number of international lecturers from the Office of the High Commission, included three lectures on introducing the UNHCR and its missions and categories of its service beneficiaries. Additionally, lectures were given on how to manage camps, howto define their locations, sizes and design as well as the required duration for implementation. Most importantly, how local, international non-governmental institutions or local authorities are encouraged to carry their management responsibly.
The lectures also covered an introduction to international humanitarian law; the assessment of needs and human resources required, community awareness, resource development, practical training and swift interactive exercises.
The speakers expressed their appreciation for the efforts exerted by the Muslim World League inthe field of humanitarian work. They also voice their admiration about the qualifications and broad expertise of the Rabita staff.
At the end of the course, the Muslim World League honored the lecturers for their efforts and valuable experiences of the trainees, underscoringthe constructive cooperation between the Rabitaand the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees.
Last year, UNHCR, in coordination with the World Relief, welfare and Development Organization, organized two training sessions on how to protect the refugees legally, since the respect for the rule of law and human rights is the essence of refugee protection. Statelessness is a cause of human insecurity, forced displacement and serious conflicts may pose a threat to national and regional stability.
