The Muslim World League is ready for Day 2 of the International Conference on Initiatives for Protecting the Youth from Extremist and Violent Ideologies at UNG eneva.
Prof. Radwan El Sayed of American University in Beirut discussed violent extremism as a new phenomenon. He calls for radical change, saying it is necessary to implement effective reform which revives the spirit that we are all brothers in the world.
Our first panel of the day was a lively discussion on "Thoughts, Ideologies, and Mileus Leading to Extremism" moderated by H.E. Abdullah M. M. Almatouq, who reiterated HE Dr. Mohammad Alissa's sentiment that there is no time and place for extremism in our world.
HE Dr. Bouabdellah Ghlamallah, representing Algeria's SupremeIslamic Council at the International Conference on Initiatives for Protecting the Youth from Extremist and Violent Ideologies, discussed the importance of a solid religious education and strong cultural foundations.
His Excellency Monsignor Khaled Akasheh, Head of the Islam Office at the Pontifical Council for Interreligious Dialogue, referenced the Charter of Makkah and the need to engage States AND young people, encouraging all to "do unto others as you would have them do unto you."
