Muslim World League Welcomes Decisions of the Extraordinary Arab-Islamic Summit
Makkah:
The Muslim World League (MWL) has welcomed the decisions of the Extraordinary Arab-Islamic Summit, generously hosted by the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, which saw participation from the countries of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) and the League of Arab States.
The statement issued by the General Secretariat of the MWL expressed that His Excellency Sheikh Dr. Mohammed bin Abdulkarim Al-Issa, Secretary-General of the MWL and Chairman of the Organization of Muslim Scholars, reaffirmed the MWL’s steadfast support for the summit’s resolutions. This support specifically extends to the unwavering commitment to the rights of the Palestinian people. These rights encompass freedom, the establishment of an independent sovereign state within the 1967 borders with East Jerusalem as its capital, and the rights of refugees to return and to receive compensation. Additionally, the statement highlighted the absolute sovereignty of the State of Palestine over occupied East Jerusalem and proclaimed the sanctity of Jerusalem as a non-negotiable "red line" for both Arab and Islamic nations.
His Eminence specifically underscored the summit's condemnation of the severe Israeli aggression and assigned full responsibility to Israel for obstructing efforts toward an immediate ceasefire by retracting from all pertinent agreements. He also conveyed his profound gratitude to the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, and His Royal Highness Crown Prince and Prime Minister Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, may Allah protect them, for their gracious hosting of the summit. This summit represents a continuation of the Kingdom’s critical and ongoing support for the Palestinian cause amid these challenging times and aims to alleviate the suffering faced by the Palestinian people.
