"Praising the MWL's Islamic and Humanitarian Role Across the Globe: In Countries of Religious and Ethnic Diversity”
At the Presidential Palace in Dar es Salaam, Her Excellency Dr. Samia Suluhu, President of the United Republic of Tanzania, welcomed His Excellency Sheikh Dr. Mohammed Alissa, Secretary-General of the Muslim World League and Chairman of the Organization of Muslim Scholars.
During their meeting, they engaged in discussions on several topics pertinent to fostering values of tolerance and national coexistence in countries characterized by religious and ethnic diversity. The dialogue underscored the significance of advancing friendship and cooperation among nations and peoples through the execution of effective international programs, affirming that Tanzania serves as an exemplary model in this regard. Moreover, Her Excellency commended the global role of the MWL in championing Islamic and humanitarian efforts, particularly in diverse religious and ethnic environments. This role underscores the benevolence of Islam worldwide, positioning the MWL as an influential Islamic organization based in Makkah.
The meeting also addressed various aspects concerning the MWL’s initiatives and programs throughout Africa, with a specific focus on Tanzania.
Additionally, His Excellency praised the level of religious and national consciousness among the Tanzanian Islamic community, particularly following his extensive interactions with them, their participation in the MWL’s international events, and the inclusion of His Eminence the Grand Imam in the Supreme Council of the MWL.
