In the esteemed presence of His Excellency, the President of Bosnia and Herzegovina, and Benjamina Karić, Mayor of Sarajevo, the "Key to Sarajevo" was awarded to His Excellency Sheikh Dr. Mohammed Al-Issa, Secretary-General of the Muslim World League and Chairman of the Organization of Muslim Scholars.
This honor marks him as the first Islamic figure to receive the highest orders of the Republic, in recognition of his unwavering dedication to fostering peace and coexistence in diverse nations. It also celebrates his pivotal role in the Sarajevo conference and declaration—a landmark initiative in the Balkans and the first since the devastating genocide in Bosnia and Herzegovina. The ceremony was graced by the President, distinguished members of Parliament, and leading figures from religious and governmental spheres.
