His Excellency Sheikh Dr. Mohammad Al-Issa, Secretary-General of the MWL, met with several members of the Republican Study Committee in Congress, in response to an invitation from Mr. Joe Wilson, the representative for South Carolina.
Dr. Al-Issa stressed the need for collaborative efforts between religious and legislative institutions to confront slogans and practices of hatred. He also highlighted the importance of promoting principles of mutual respect, and the values of understanding, tolerance, and harmony in societies with national diversity in particular, and among nations and peoples at large. All of this emphasizes the importance of a civilizational alliance among all, especially in facing the dangers of conflict and the clash of civilizations.
Moreover, he emphasized the effective role of the family, education, and social media platforms in shaping human thought to form civilized societies that uphold both educational and behavioral values.
