The Muslim World League offers sincere condolences and sympathy to the Republic of Indonesia, its people and government, His Excellency President Joko Widodo, and families of the victims and the injured as a result of the earthquake that hit the island of Java.
In a statement of the MWL’s General Secretariat, His Excellency its Secretary General, Chairman of the Organization of Muslim Scholars, Sheikh Dr. Mohammed bin Abdulkarim Al-Issa, said: “We followed with great pain the effects of the horrific earthquake on the island of Java in the dear Republic of Indonesia, and we were saddened by the losses that resulted from it, especially in lives. On behalf of the General Secretariat of the Muslim World League, and its international bodies, councils, and assemblies, we offer our full solidarity with Indonesia in this calamity, asking the Lord Almighty to have mercy on the deceased, and to dwell them in His paradise, and to grant the injured a speedy recovery, and to protect Indonesia and its dear people from all evil.
