During a great celebration described by local circles and the Muslim community as “historic” in its agenda and the extent of its activities, a delegation from the Muslim World League, led by His Excellency Sheikh Dr. His Excellency Secretary General of the MWL, President of the Organization of Muslim Scholars, Sheikh Dr. Mohammad bin Abdulkarim Al-Issa visited Thailand on an official invitation extended by the Thai government. The program of the visit, prepared by the Thai government, was marked by meetings with the heads of the government, parliament and their members. The visit also included meeting Interfaith leaders, in addition to specific and general lectures delivered at major universities and religious centers.
The display of hospitality shown to the delegation echoes the broad global status the Muslim World League enjoys under the leadership of its Secretary General. It was also evident during the notable reception accorded to His Excellency the Secretary General, Dr. Mohammad Al-Issa, and his accompanying delegation, upon his arrival at the airport in the Thai capital, where he was received by His Excellency the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs. Afterward, an official reception ceremony was held in honor of His Excellency and his entourage, followed by a lunch banquet.
At the end of the official reception ceremony, the Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Thailand, General Prayut Chan-Ocha, received His Excellency Sheikh Dr. Mohammad Al-Issa at the Seat of the government, and welcomed him in Thailand. His Excellency noted the importance of the program’s visit. He said his country is looking forward to the speech His Excellency the Secretary General will deliver at the King's University on the Alliance of Civilizations.
