His Excellency Mr. Abdurrashad Badi-Uddin
Minister of Trade and Industry and Member of the Parliament of Sri Lanka
- The religion of Islam is the religion of peace based on unity and reconciliation, but unfortunately the international community does not realize this fact.
- At this critical time it is necessary to correct the image of Islam and Muslims.
- Some groups within the peaceful Muslim world have failed to recognize the need for unity and are busy creating superficial conflicts within and outside their societies.
- The real struggle for Islamic unity lies within the conscience and subconscious mind of the Muslim.
- Muslims in Sri Lanka live in a predominantly Buddhist state and the government has established an independent ministry to promote unity and reconciliation.
- Unity is one of the fundamentals of the Islamic religion our Lord is one, our Qur'an is one, our messenger is one, our religion is one, our Qibla is one, and our nation is one.
