The MWL via its subsidiary the International Association for Relief, Care & Development (IARCD) resumes its 2nd campaign to aid Yemenis

As Part of its Urgent Relief Programs and in Response to the 2018 UN Humanitarian Plan,

The MWL Launches its 2nd Campaign to Aid 75,000 Displaced Yemenis in the Deeper Parts of Yemen.

The Muslim World League (MWL) has launched its second campaign as part of its urgent relief programs for the Yemeni brothers. In a clear fulfilment of the 2018 Humanitarian Response Plan launched by the UN, which called for the collection of $2.96 billion this year for the Yemenis to help them overcome the humanitarian crisis they are now experiencing.

HE Dr. Sheikh Muhammad bin Abdulkarim Al-Issa, Secretary General of the Muslim World League  met  in the mid of last April with HE Mr. Antonio Gutierrez, UN Secretary General. They reviewed the issues of mutual concern, including the international humanitarian role of the MWL and its effective participation in providing aid to the victims of crisis and catastrophes, in the different parts of the world, irrespective of their background or affiliations.

This campaign comes within the context of the relief program launched under the directives of HE Dr. Al-Issa via the International Association for Relief, Care & Development (IARCD) to alleviate the suffering of the Yemeni people and meet the needs of the displaced Yemeni citizens  in five central and inner Provinces of the country, namely; Jouf, Hajjah, Ma'rib, Shabwa and Abyan. The campaign included the distribution of more than (15,200) food baskets that benefited more than 75 thousand of the affected.

From his side, HE Dr. Abdul Aziz Sarhan, Acting Secretary General of the International Association for Relief, Care & Development (IARCD) indicated that the campaign has commenced this week with the provision of five thousand food baskets to the displaced in Hajjah Province, in cooperation with Albarakah Charitable and Developmental Establishment in Yemen, which supervised the distribution process. He added that the campaign will move to the remaining provinces, as three thousand food baskets will be distributed in Ma'rib, Shabwa and Abyan; whereas one thousand two hundred food baskets  (1,200) will be distrusted in Al-Jouf.

HE Dr. Al-Sarhan said that the MWL has rendered, and is still rendering, to the Yemini people aid in the different fields that include health care and community service. In addition to the provision of clean drinking water, and securing care and sustenance for the orphans. The cost of all these projects amounted to SR (102,855,293) and benefited around (2,361,398) Yemenis. In conclusion, he emphasized that the MWL will continue providing its financial support to the Yemeni people, with its different groups and at the various Provinces of the country, till it overcomes its humanitarian crisis.
