With the attendance of 4000 Hafizs & Islamic personalities, MWL participates in the Qur'anic evening reception held in Mauritius
MWL has participated in the evening Qur'anic reception held in Mauritius in which ten Hafizs belonging to different countries have taken part.
Secretary General of International Islamic Organization for Memorization of the Holy Qur'an (IOMHQ), H.E. Dr. Abdullah Basfar said," In implementation of the directives of the Secretary General of the Muslim World League, H.E. Sheikh Dr. Muhammad Abdulkareem Alisa, the (IIOMHQ) has sent the Saudi Hafiz, Sheikh Khalid Abdulkafi, to participate in the evening Qur'anic reception ". Furthermore, H E. Dr. Basfar has indicated that the reception, which was organized on this occasion, was attended by a huge number of individuals that exceeded (4000).
At the top of the participants were the guests of honour of the reception, who comprised Deputy Prime Minister, H. E. Showkutally Soodhun, Minister of Finance and Economic Development, Honourable Mr. Pravind Jugnauth, the son of the President of the country, Minister of Local Government, Dr. the Honourable Mohammad Anwar HUSNOO and Head of the Municipality of the Capital, Mr. Mr. Umar, Member of the Parliament.
The reception was inaugurated by the recitation of certain verses from the Holy Qur'an, followed by a welcoming speech and an adequate introduction of each of the ten Hafizs, who sat at their designated places with the flags of their respective countries, displayed conspicuously behind them. After that, every Hafiz has recited certain verses from the Holy Qur'an for ten minutes. At the conclusion, gifts and prizes have been dully distributed among participants.
