I am writing to express my alarm at the recent heinous attacks by the Houthis on King Khalid International Airport in Riyadh, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, which reportedly resulted in the loss of civilian lives and injuries to many others. I unequivocally condemn those attacks.
I wish to convey my solidarity with the Government and people of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and my heartfelt condolences to the families of the victims, as well as my wishes for a swift recovery to those injured.
Targeting civilians and civilian infrastructure is unacceptable. It is an affront to the principles of humanity and international law.
I also wish to express my appreciation for the continued efforts of the Muslim World League, under your leadership, to promote mutual understanding and peaceful coexistence. At a time of heightened tensions, upholding these values is more important than ever.
