He conveyed to Dr. Al-Issa the greetings of His Excellency President Subianto and extended to him an official invitation to visit Indonesia.
His Excellency Mr. Ahmad Muzani, Speaker of the People's Consultative Assembly and Secretary-General of the Great Indonesia Movement Party, visited the headquarters of the Muslim World League (MWL) in Makkah, heading a delegation of the Assembly’s representatives and members, where he and the accompanying delegation were received by His Excellency Sheikh Dr. Mohammed Al-issa
, the Secretary-General of the MWL and Chairman of the Organization of Muslim Scholars.
His Excellency the Speaker of the Assembly conveyed the greetings of His Excellency the President of the Republic of Indonesia and his appreciation for the Muslim World League’s efforts worldwide. He emphasized that the MWL has significantly, clearly, and tangibly contributed to conveying the true message of Islam, characterized by tolerant moderation, through its initiatives and influence in international meetings that span from the East to the West of the world. He also highlighted that the MWL, with its far-sighted Islamic awareness, has embraced individuals from various sects, races, and peoples of different religions, denominations, and cultures. This engagement enhances the status and presence of the Islamic voice and vision globally, aligning with the desired outcomes. Furthermore, the MWL has effectively disseminated true Islamic values through its remarkable activities, thereby addressing accusations and slanders against the noble message of Islam.
For his part, His Eminence the Secretary-General of the MWL and Chairman of the Organization of Muslim Scholars praised the distinguished, moderate Islamic model in Indonesia, which effectively exemplifies the standards of coexistence amid religious and ethnic diversity, reflecting Indonesia’s profound religious and national awareness. His Eminence expressed profound appreciation for the sentiments of Indonesia—its President, government, and people—towards the Muslim World League, which emanated from Makkah to the Islamic world. On behalf of the scholars of the Islamic Ummah, as well as the MWL’s councils, bodies, and assemblies, His Eminence placed great hope in His Excellency the President to further advance Indonesia’s distinction at the national, Islamic, and international levels—particularly its open and positive attitudes toward all forms of diversity, which indeed constitute the social capital of countries with religious, ethnic, and cultural diversity.
