Statement from Muslim World League

Makkah:

The Muslim World League condemns the act of an extremist who destroyed a copy of the Holy Quran in The Hague, Netherlands, in a disgraceful scene that provoked the sentiments of Muslims.

This came in a statement by the General Secretariat of the MWL, in which the Secretary General, Chairman of the Organization of Muslim Scholars, His Excellency Sheikh Dr. Mohammed bin Abdulkarim Al-Issa, warned of the dangers of the practices that provoke hatred and religious sentiments, and only serve the agendas of extremism. His Excellency also reaffirmed the importance of recognizing the dangers of these practices and the need to confront these issues in solidarity.

Dr. Al-Issa stressed that these barbaric behaviors will only deepen Muslims’ faith, strengthen their values of peace and coexistence, and increase their sincere support towards their nations, as well as their effective contributions to strengthening their nations’ stability and harmony.
