Holy Quran Competition

The MWL has conducted, in collaboration with the Holy Quran Memorization Association in Zanzibar, Tanzania,  a ceremony for a Holy Qur'an Competition  in 98 male and female students participated  in Zanzibar.

The Secretary General of the International Organization for Memorization of the Holy Qur'an ,  an affiliate of the MWL,  H. E. Dr. Abdullah Basfar said , " In implementation of  the directives of the Secretary General of the MWL Sheikh Dr. Mohammad Abdulkarim Aleis, International Organization for Memorization of the Holy Qur'an has conducted in Zanzibar District, Tanzania, a Holy Qur'an Competition that comprised seven sections, which are detailed as: Memorization of the whole Qur'an, memorization of 25 chapters of the Holy Qur'an, memorization of 20 chapters of the Holy Qur'an, memorization of 15 chapters of the Holy Qur'an, memorization of 10 chapters of the Holy Qur'an, memorization of 5 chapters of the Holy Qur'an, memorization of 3 chapters of the Holy Qur'an  ". Furthermore, he said a six –member committee was formed to serve as referee body for proper evaluation of the competitors performance. Likewise, H. E. Dr. Basafar added that a ceremony for honoring participants was organized. This particular event was attended by Former Minister of Health, H.E. Mr. Juma Doon Haj, four members of the Parliament and the representative of the International Organization for Memorization of the Holy Qur'an, H. E. Mr. Abdulwahab Alsarari, a notable number of scholars and those concerned with the promulgation of the Qur'an and a large number of citizens as well as parents of male and female students. Those, who have given certain speeches,  have  applauded the role played at international level by both the MWL and  International Organization for Memorization of the Holy Qur'an in serving Qur'an and patronizing those committing Qur'an to their memories. The speakers praised the efforts made by the Government of Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman Ibn Abdulaziz in serving Islam and Muslims. They tackled  the virtues of memorizing Holy Qur'an; and encourage  male and female students  to make further effort in memorizing and perfecting intonation of the Qur'an as well as holding fast to the good ethics and conduct to which Holy Qur'an guided people. Finally, they urged participants to do  their level best to set good example for others in their respect communities.

Both male and female Hafizes have given examples of their recitations for the verses of the Holy Qur'an. At conclusion , prizes and awards and gifts have been dully distributed among male and female participants in the Competition.
