In Washington DC, an open dialogue was held with His Excellency Sheikh Dr. Mohammad Al-Issa, where he spoke about the Islamic values and principles in the Charter Of Makkah. It was attended by more than 30 prominent think tanks, research centers, and policy advisors in the US Congress. The discussion touched upon how the Charter, for the first time ever, formed the consensus of Muslim scholars and Muftis, from various Islamic sects, on the most pressing and important contemporary issues. The audience appreciated Dr. Al-Issa’s ideas and answers, especially on intellectually contentious topics. The interview was moderated by Steve Clemons, the Founding Editor at Large of Semafor and writer for The New York Times. The meeting was attended by several senior religious figures, particularly Muslim figures, who deemed the Charter of Makkah a source of pride.
